Live from Berlin : ETF 2014 - Part 13

Hi!

The Munich gang finished the second speaker set up.

3 horns per side!

This system has a surprisingly detailed and dynamic sound.

The bass is covered by a Phonogen cabinet from the 1980ies. This is a backloaded horn, cast in concrete:

What a crazy speaker. It sounds wonderful!

Listen yourself:

Best regards

Thomas

  1. Thanks for your kind compliments, Thomas !

i enjoyed viewing your rich ETF coverage very much. The shot of BO in pt.16 being my favourite. And then listening -- the audio you took is surprisingly revealing of what really was going on in Berlin.

One small addition -- this Phonogen can be configured back+front loaded or just front loaded. In Berlin, the visible 10" speaker was not in use, so front-load only. I refrained from removing the visible unit -- the setup was ugly enough, guess i'll wrap the gray foam in some nice cloth to smoothen shape and add WAF before jumping on a next project...
